Sequence of removal and engine and gear box installation not identical on different Ford Mondeo models. The engine with 16 valves (in the presence of a mechanical gear box) will act in film from the car together with a gear box.
At engine mount and gear box removal it is necessary to mark a mode of fastening of rubber bearing parts again to establish them in initial position. At engine removal the lifting tackle is required.
On cars with an automatic gear box the engine acts in film without a gear box. Removal of the engines established till May 1998 - remove an intake line for what at first take out four bolts of fastening. Then take out a pad from the gauge and release on the same party, remove hose loose straps. Take out a multicontact pin plug of the gauge of let in air. On a left side there is an underpressure hose. Remove it;
- Remove the filter for air clearing. For this purpose disconnect an air intake hose between the filter and a cover of a head of the cylinder block. Unhook on the right a rubber ring and hoist the filter for air clearing on a right side from fastening, take it at the left and take;
- Compress plastic clamps and remove hoses from fuel lines;
- Take out a safety clamp of a rope of a throttle valve, deduce from gearing with the lever of a rope of a throttle valve and cautiously shift all rope back; (cars with a mechanical gear box) spend in a following order:
- To slacken nuts of fastening of both front wheels;
- Unhook both cables from the accumulator battery and all wires attached to it. Connectors of cables in bunches should be accordingly cut, and at installation are replaced by the new;
- Take out a pad of the push-button switch of a steer with the booster. Turn away a cable on "weight" from an eyelet of the engine and unhook a hose of a high pressure for the auxiliary pump of a steering with the servo mechanism;
- Disconnect various hoses of a low pressure, having put labels a felt-tip pen on the end of a hose and a connecting pipe. Hoses are connected with following parts: one hose is connected with an inlet tube, another - with a fuel delivery pressure regulator. The hose attached to a diaphragm concerns system of recirculation of the fulfilled gases, both below the located hose belong to system Pulse-Air.
